Just as I was finishing photographing Emma and Paul’s wedding last year, Paul’s mother Ann approached me and told me that she was having an Hawaiian themed 60th party in April of this year, and stated she would ask me to photograph it.
True to her word, I got a telephone call from Ann earlier this year and I was delighted to agree to photograph her special event.
The venue for this event was Fishley Park, Bloxwich and I hadn’t been here since my wedding reception I June 1989. So as you can see this venue holds some very special memories for me.
As each guest arrived they were presented with a Hawaiian Lei, as was I, the photographer. The most popular concept of a lei in Hawaiian culture is that it is presented upon arriving or leaving as a symbol of affection.
The party was attended by close family and friends and the photographs (http://www.thjphotography.jamesfarley.co.uk/portfolio/anns-60th-party-april-2015/) show the wide age range of people attending. As you can see, the lei was a fitting presentation from Ann.
Throughout the night photographs were taken of the guests and the cake, and one that was specifically requested, Ann with her Grandchildren. All in all this was a special event for a special person in a special venue.
If you know of anyone that requires their event photographing please feel free to share my website and contact details with them.
